The Blessed Holy Family are pleased to share the exciting news that one of our past members of staff has been appointed to an exciting new role offering frontline expertise informing future national education policy. Andrew O’Neill played a pivotal role as part of the senior leadership team at The Sacred Heart. In his role as Deputy Headteacher he lad on our Cat6holic life, raising attainment and using data effectively and efficiently to make a difference in the classroom. We were delighted to support him in his move to Headship where he has taken a school in challenging circumstances and turned it around to be a centre of innovation and excellence. It was with great pride we saw Andrew become Headteacher of the year in 2022.
Yesterday it was announced that Andrew has taken up a seconded role for the next 12 months at the Department of Education advising the education secretary and senior civil servants on future educational policy. Throughout his time at The Sacred Heart Andrew’s commitment to equality, inclusion and progress for all will stand him in good stead for this new and exciting role. We wish him every success over the coming year.
