St George's Art Exhibition 18th June 2025

St George's Celebrate the legacy of Pope Francis
The children of St George’s School community held a wonderful art exhibition this week reflecting on the question “What does hope mean to us, and how we can express it through art”. This was inspired by the legacy of Pope Francis as they shared his message “Let us not allow ourselves to be robbed of hope”.
Each year group chose a different medium to reflect on what hope meant to them and how they can see it lived out each day.
Reception - Hope in nature through the use of collage using natural materials.
Year 1 - Hope though kindness in their paintings
Year 2 - Symbols of hope through printmaking
Year 3 - Hope in the world though collage
Year 4 - Voices of hope though mixed media
Year 5 - Hope in our community through the medium of charcoal and pastel
Year 6 - Our legacy of Hope though sculpture.
Parents joined the school community to celebrate the special gifts and talents of all the pupils at St George’s in what was truly an uplifting and inspiring reflection on this jubilee year. Well done to all the pupils and staff.
